Activities: Boat rides around the islands, which host a multitude of birds, hippos, crocodiles, and monitor lizards. Bird-watching and professional guides. Bush walks over the islands or within the Ruko Community Conservancy. Cultural visits to Njemps villages and schools or to the traditional Pokot tribe on the northern shores of Lake Baringo. Bush breakfasts. Sundowners. Mountain biking. Fishing. Canoeing. Water-sport include wake-boarding, waterskiing, knee-boarding and tubing. Massages. Interact with community projects such as schools, clinics, self-help and women’s groups or conservancy projects. Half day excursions to see thousands of flamingos feeding in Lake Bogoria, an enchanting nearby soda lake. Picnic lunches in the Tugen Hills, the largest range within the Great Rift, and experience ‘typical Africa’ within the colourful markets, with great birding opportunities to visit fossil sites and museums. Day trips to Lake Nakuru National Reserve, famous for its abundance of flamingos and wildlife.
