Getting There:

ROAD DIRECTIONS TO AMANI BEACH 1. Cross the ferry at KIVUKONI after the fish market. 2. After embarking on the other side (KIGAMBONI), drive straight on the tarmac road for about 6 kilometers. Do not take any turnings turns. 3. After 6 kilometers of tarmac you will encounter the new road (re-surfaced) at a junction. Land mark is a Petrol Station OILCOM. Continue driving on the re-surfaced road on the left hand side of the station which runs for about 3 kilometers. 4. At the beginning of the new road you will find the AMANI BEACH road direction signs. The drive to Amani from this point is 20kms and will take approximately 40 minutes. 5. Continue driving straight on the dirt road at intersection or turn, follow the AMANI BEACH signs. Don’t turn until you reach a large, concrete AMANI BEACH sign on the right side of the road directing you to a sandy road on your left. 6. Drive straight on the sandy road and, once again, you will be guided by the AMANI BEACH signs, until you reach the main gate of the hotel. 7. In order to have a comfortable drive to AMANI BEACH, a four wheel drive vehicle is recommended. ALTERNATE ROAD TO AMANI BEACH 1. From the UMOJA HOUSE drive to the OHIO STREET, then turn right (as if you were going to the MOVENPICK HOTEL or to the BARCLAYS) up to the traffic lights. 2. Turn left to the BIBI TITI Road and continue until you get to the KAMATA traffic lights (NYERERE Road). Turn left on KILWA Road. 3. You will come to a roundabout - keep going straight - you will see a bridge (under it is a railway) and on the right you will see a BP gas station. Continue along this road until you reach a junction - turn right and continue for +/- 20 kms (through KURASINI, KEKO, MBAGALA - traffic gets quite busy with the “DALADALA” traffic and unmarked speed humps). 4. You will come to KONGOWE (a DALADALA station for buses coming from MJI MWEMA) and there is a main road that turns left. Take this road heading for MJI MWEMA (approx. 16 kms). When you get to MJI MWEMA there is a T junction with a filling station on your right. Turn right. From here there are clear sign posts to AMANI BEACH (approx. another 24 kms). Total journey = +/- 60 kms.
